MaW session 9th October 2021

Our third course of the year started easily with Adrienne's Memories of Kindness mindfulness practice.

Bev introduced the writing session with  ~ “Working Together” by David Whyte from which we used the prompt

And now for some of
YOUR WRITING:

Matryoshka
by Cath Hopkins

The true shape of myself,
Is hidden in the smallest Matryoshka doll.
Held in a space where I can not be seen,
and where I can be true to me,
the me that belongs to me.
Where there is no risk.
deep amongst the Matryoshka's.

Loch Lomond (acrostic)
by Lesley O'Brien

Lowland light shines
O
Charcoal hunters and the last
Howl of the

Last wolf is witnessed by the cormorant perched on the highest branch of the tallest tree
On Honeymoon island and as
Munro meticulously counts the mountains
Of Alba, Red Coats march in the shadows of Vikings and Romans, while
Neolithic New Stone Agers
Dance in the flames of Rob Roy’s cave as he couries in his hideaway and gives thanks to a land shaped by ice

True Shape
by Maggie Watson
A skein of sound across the sky
                                      of shaped formation, sure intent
to reach this island sanctuary -
these fields by shoreline. Journey’s end.
The call of wild geese prophesy,
                   their language high, half understood;
yet true and kind to ear and eye.
This sky is ours; this earth is good.
